چکیده

Monitoring temporal relationships among events in event streams has wide scale applicability in health information systems. From detecting violations of privacy policies in message sequences to diagnosing conditions in physiological data streams real-time event monitoring of temporal invariants is becoming an important tool for system design. We developed an Active Real-Time Event Monitoring and Integration System (ARTEMIS) capable of integrating event streams and monitoring the existence of temporal invariants among events expressed in a safety fragment of metric first-order temporal logic (MFOTL). The paper discusses the mathematical foundations of the monitor, and demonstrates the application concepts in a physiological alarm generator and clinical information workflow system.

Monitoring Algorithms for Metric Temporal Logic Specifications

Program execution traces can be so large in practical testing and monitoring applications that it would be very expensive, if not impossible, to store them for detailed analysis. Monitoring execution traces without storing them, can be a nontrivial matter for many specification formalisms, because complex formulae may require a considerable amount of information about the past. Metric temporal ...

Control Synthesis for Multi-Agent Systems under Metric Interval Temporal Logic Specifications

This paper presents a framework for automatic synthesis of a control sequence for multi-agent systems governed by continuous linear dynamics under timed constraints. First, the motion of the agents in the workspace is abstracted into individual Transition Systems (TS). Second, each agent is assigned with an individual formula given in Metric Interval Temporal Logic (MITL) and in parallel, the t...

Monitoring Temporal Logic Specifications Combined with Time Series Constraints

Run-time monitoring of temporal properties and assertions is used for testing and as a component of execution-based model checking techniques. Traditional run-time monitoring however, is limited to observing sequences of pure Boolean propositions. This paper describes tools for observing temporal properties over time series; namely, sequences of propositions with constraints on data value chang...

A Rewriting Based Monitoring Algorithm for TPTL

In this paper, we present a rewriting based monitoring algorithm for time propositional temporal logic (TPTL), which is a classic time extension of linear temporal logic (LTL). TPTL has been shown to be more expressive than other real-time extensions of LTL, e.g., metric temporal logic (MTL). We first describe the syntax and semantics of TPTL on finite time-traces. Using Maude, which is an exec...

Realizability of Real-Time Logics

We study the realizability problem for specifications of reactive systems expressed in real-time linear temporal logics. The logics we consider are subsets of MITL (Metric Interval Temporal Logic), a logic for which the satisfiability and validity problems are decidable, a necessary condition for the realizability problem to be decidable. On the positive side, we show that the realizability of ...
